Building confidence and skills: Andrea’s holiday experience

Andrea enjoyed a brilliant holiday that perfectly reflected her love of being active. She made the most of every day, walking over 10,000 steps each day and embracing every opportunity to get out, move, and explore.

Beyond the physical activity, the holiday played an important role in building Andrea’s confidence and independence. Being away from home created a supportive space for her to try new things, make choices, and grow in self-belief.

One highlight of the holiday was Andrea’s time at a local gym, which she thoroughly enjoyed. This experience has had a lasting impact, encouraging her to continue going to a gym closer to home and helping her make friends locally.

Andrea also embraced the opportunity to explore self-administration of her medication while away, supported by her team. This was a significant step towards greater autonomy, giving her increased confidence and independence in managing her own medication.

This holiday was more than just a break – it provided Andrea with opportunities to practise skills, gain confidence, and develop independence that continue to support her in everyday life.
