A year ago, the house experienced a sad loss when a long-standing gentleman, who had lived at Cliff View for many years, passed away. His sister, Jane, had been deeply involved in his life and in the house, attending birthdays, Christmases, and other celebrations whenever she could. Jane, now in her 80s, brought warmth, wisdom, and care to the home, and her presence left a lasting impression on everyone at Cliff View.
As Christmas approached, the team and the people living at Cliff View decided to make special hampers for loved ones. They baked, iced, and filled baskets with little treats, spending months preparing them. Yvonne wanted to take part, and the team suggested a thoughtful idea: why not give one to Jane? Jane would truly appreciate it and feel connected to the home even after her brother’s passing.
Yvonne agreed, and the gift became the start of a beautiful new connection. Jane was delighted to receive it and immediately invited Yvonne to the New Forest to join her for Christmas lunch. Since then, their friendship has grown. Jane now celebrates Yvonne’s birthday and even plans special outings with her.
